Meet the Owner

Mark Morris aka DJ Mack Morris loves making clients smile on their big day.

His love of music began in band practice, playing drums in the 5th grade but how do you get from a drum set to the turntables and a microphone? Your mom hires you to DJ your little sister’s birthday party with some rented equipment. Soon enough all her friends were booking Morris. Don’t let those humble beginnings fool you though. Career highlights include crowds of 7000 strong in San Diego for the Kawasaki Gaslamp Takeover and showing off at a San Francisco Giants Game at the ripe ol’ age of 20.

The Chico born and raised Morris also boasts local highlights that are near and dear to his heart such as the Enloe Hospital and Walk for Cancer events. Not only does he share his talents at large events but he also runs Elite Sound DJs – a local entertainment business that provides quality DJ services for weddings, school dances and other events. While Elite runs a crew, you can be sure to get quality music at your event because Morris’ deep passion for music grew to include teaching others his craft.

Morris’ extensive work history isn’t the whole story though. As a Music Industry major, Morris challenged the college to provide better options to serve his education and business. When the coursework wasn’t helping him improve his marketing and account management skills, a professor suggested Morris pursue a degree through the special major program. This meant that Morris had to tenaciously tailor his own coursework schedule and seek approval from various departments for those courses. It wasn’t easy to get approved but once he did, he never looked back.

Morris uses his experience and degree in Entertainment Entrepreneurship (Go Wildcats!) to inform, not only his business practices, but also teach professional DJ courses at Core Butte Charter School. When in his element “90's Hip-Hop will always be my personal favorite but I'll cater to any of my client’s needs to get their guests going on the dance floor.”

Beyond music, Morris’ loves include his adorable pug, DJ and enjoying five-star meals. If he isn’t cooking it up at home you are sure to find him in local haunts like Crush, Momona or the Banshee on the regular.
